兩個義大利雙胞胎，兩個日本女孩，在紐約學藝術，在小餐館相遇，於是產生了Blonde Redhead。團名取自八0年代No Wave名團DNA的一首歌；學藝術的學生總是這樣的操弄搖滾樂，於是又有人拿Sonic Youth早期的樂風和他們相提並論，而Blonde Redhead充滿藝術感的音樂也被Sonic Youth的鼓手Steve Shelly相中，簽到Steve Shelly自己的廠牌Smells Like Records旗下，發行了兩張專輯，這也許不是巧合，DNA也是Sonic Youth相當欣賞的樂團呢！
