Released in 1991, Steady Diet of Nothing was Fugazis second full-length studio album and a significant turning point in the bands history. For the first time, the group chose to produce the record themselves, seeking total creative control over their sound. Recorded at Inner Ear Studios with engineer Ted Niceley, the result is a project that is notably more restrained, stark, and inward-looking than its predecessor, Repeater.
